Someone should tell this to cyberbullies that use freedom of speech as an excuse to harass, bully, defame, and shame others in public and defend their acts as "criticism".

I hate bullies of all kind, as I experienced some pretty horrific abuse when I was younger. But as awful as it can be, it's still freedom of speech, so long as it's an opinion or belief that doesn't involve or result in serious real-world damage, threats, or inciting violence.

If it involves defaming, lies, threats, violence, or blackmail, that's another thing, especially if it involves breaking the 9th Commandment: You Shall Not Bear False Witness Against Thy Neighbor. Some words have lost their meaning no thanks to bullies abusing them.

Yeah, because those result in serious damages. Lies can be protected by freedom of speech, so long as they don't result in things like defamation of character or fraud.
But yes, people aren't using words are they're meant for, which makes it all the more difficult.

Nicely put.
I'll just add here that freedom of speech sometimes collide with censorship and other things. Nothing wrong with your deviation, just wanted to put it out in the open since it's not always obvious to people.

I'm confused, antifa uses violence in response to free speech. Does that mean free speech is now a crime because someone disagrees and becomes violent?
