Description Yukon earning his CD, CDX, UD, UDX, and OTCH titles

While Yukon loved the field and show ring, Hillary wanted to know if he could also translate his obedience to the obedience ring. It was more structured than anything else he'd done. There were more distractions than in the field, and admittedly, obedience meant doing the same tasks over and over. No one knew if Yukon could tolerate that. Not every dog was okay with doing the same things again and again. Still, it was worth a try. If he didn't like the sport, then they'd stop and do something else. There was no use in having a ring sour dog and he'd probably never set a paw back in the ring if that happened. And with him being so close to earning his championship, it wasn't worth him not wanting to step into the show ring again.

The Wiltshire Spaniel wagged his tail as he stepped into the ring. He sat beside his owner when she halted, looking up at her for the next signal. Being a show dog, he was fine with having strangers touch him, allowing the judge to touch him during the "stand for examination" exercise. He eagerly set off again for the next exercise, sitting beside Hillary once more when she stopped. Patiently, he waited for her as she stepped out of sight, not moving an inch for those three minutes. He knew she'd come back eventually. It was just a matter of time. He laid down when told to, an exercise that he grudgingly completed. He'd rather sit than lie down, allowing him to jump up much better, ready for the next task.

What he loved the most though, was the jumping portion of the event. With his love for jumping over things, he'd make a great agility dog and if you ever needed a dog for a bird that'd fallen over a fence, he was your dog. He bounded over the spread jump like it was a pile of twigs. The last exercise was the retrieve of dumbbell. All he had to do was go to the pile of objects and pick out which one was his owner's. That was easy enough. Yukon trotted over, sniffed around for the object, tail wagging when he located the dumbbell, and picked it up. He trotted back over to Hillary, sitting in front of her and allowing her to take it from him. "Good dog," She praised him.
