Description A little thumbnail sketch I did always intreged me, so I turned it into this larger piece and just loved it. Hoping to play with this idea some more in the near future...

Such a charming rhinoceros! Look at the teensy eye, the little ears, the sweep of the horns!Β I love the wrinkles; they make the rhino look so ponderous. Also the pencil texture looks, to me, like it could be wood-grain, as if this were a sculpted paperweight.

Oh man why are there no comments here?! I'll plop one in.
This guy is awesome. All of the little nodules and lumps and the shape of his head near the ears give him so much life! The white comte certainly helped to bring out those details too! What a great concept, it looks like it was a lot of fun to draw.

Thank you! This started as a little sketch, just two inches, that I scribbled one day at work. I loved the swoops - and tried several times to re-create it larger. I finally liked this one and have tried several times to do other animals in this style, but none of them seem to come together as nicely as this one. I have got to learn to just turn off my brain and sketch...
