Description
The Renegade Pokémon and one of the three Legendary Dragons of Sinnoh
Giratina is said to be the firstborn of Arceus' creation. It was initially tasked with maintaining the balance of the world Arceus created. However, Giratina turned upon its creator, deciding that it would rule the universe and subsequently set out to achieve that goal. Ultimately, Giratina was defeated and cast out. Arceus would bequeath Giratina's responsibility unto a fourth Legendary Dragon - one who feared and respected its creator, while Giratina itself was never to be seen again.
Legend says that Giratina was banished to another dimension - one where it’s dark power would be lost forever. It is said to appears in cemeteries and can see into our world through reflective surfaces.
Giratina is a dual-type Pokémon, being both Ghost and Dragon-type. While it is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon, it can change its form :
- when exposed to the Griseous Orb/Griseous Core
- when travelling between dimensions
