I've been a bit into musicals lately, and the best thing about being able to draw is being able to make your own fanart of your preferred fandom! I love Heathers, both the movie and the musical. This particular mess of drawings focus on the musical mainly.1. The Almighty Heather Chandler drawn with 3 different red pens, all of them dying at the time.
2. A bit of a personality switch between Veronica and JD. Ronnie is the scruffy and slightly psychotic new girl and Jason is a jock, taken in by clique leaders Ram and Kurt.
3. My dearest child Heather McNamara being a peppy cheerleader. This is something I need to see more often: a Happy Heatherβ’.
4. A bit of comfort between Veronica and Heather McNamara. Both of which could use a hug.
5. I honestly couldn't tell these two apart at first, so I drew them for reference? Still not sure. Still love them tho
6. They talked once in the movie, and never in the musical? I'm one for odd ships, and JD gives a pretty aloof first impression. Martha, bless her heart, probably immediately sees the little bit of good in him.
7. Little Ram and Martha in kindergarten! Some kids wanted to exclude Martha from their game, nd lil' Ram was having none of it.

The one thing I would rewrite with Heathers the Musical is trying to give Kurt a distinct and different personality from Ram. Kurt would know so much about football that no one at Westerburg could beat him in that category. He's also more calculating and less inclined to get in a fight than Ram. Here are some scenes I would change.
1. The slow motion fight would initially just be one-on-one between Ram and J.D. Kurt would only intervene when he noticed Ram was struggling.
2. Before Ram arrived for Big Fun, Kurt would be doing what he calls "Football Homework". All of the best running backs and receivers from the 1988 season had graduated and the replacements don't give much for Kurt to work with. He decides to use a system that would have Westerburg constantly swap out running backs and receivers based on the situation. This turns out to be an early version of what Bill Belichick perfected in the running back by committee system.
3. When Ram is shot, Kurt confesses his romantic love to Ram's corpse. Kurt was secretly bisexual, but didn't have the guts to tell anyone (it's 1989 after all).
For the record, Ram would be very much sexually straight. Also, lord knows what would happen if J.D. and Martha actually talked with each other. They're almost exact opposites.

I don't blame you I was very proud of myself when HE's face came out so well. His eyebrows, his hair, his sly grin~ *shudder*

The murder twist was amazing. The show makes me so happy! I don't know if its good or not but I like still.Β

Ah! And Veronica's fake suicide! I nearly cried when I thought she was actually dead. I watched the movie first, but I was biased since I already loved Winona Ryder.
Then the musical! Ah!!! My favorite songs are Beautiful, Freeze Your Brain, and Meant To Be Yours

XD I did the same but understood the musical better. The movie just felt weird, like it was missing so much. It was still good for when it was realized though. I will be real!
Meant To Be Yours is my favorite hands down. I loved the emotion put into it! Next would have to be Reprise of Dead Girl Walking, Lifeboat and Seventeen.Β

80'S movies are weird, no question about it. But 80's Winona Ryder is my spirit animal.
True! The movie lacked a lot of emotion. Heather Chandler? Who? Betty Finn what? Martha spoke once!
Even when Veronica was hanging from a noose JD and her mother just stared and spoke to her as if they knew she could hear. Barely any mourning or screaming. JD fell to his knees in the musical, but in the movie, he wanted to kill her!
*sigh* The musical even focused on how much JD and Veronica cared for each other, despite the circumstances. In the movie she didn't blink when he blew himself up.

Right! If they ever did remake the movie, I want all the actors from the musical in it as well as all the songs.Β
I would pay all the money to see it.
