Not growing

Inside the sense is gone
But the sorrow felt lingers on
Time shall heal and hope shall mend
The memory of will never end

I never thought I’d ever know
How it feels to lose natural control
And to think I’ve had it all this time
What a trick to play…a horrific crime
To never own the joy
To never say t’was mine

To live my life and wonder
Who lived beyond that door?
The one I did not choose,
I lost my faith once more
Someone will always know
What weakens me inside
I have sacrificed my heart
In that, there is no pride

I’ll never be the same
But comfort comes in knowing
That I sent along some of myself
To hold the one not growing
