I cant help but think that the witch still looks motherly. In the end, she must have thought of Rapunzel as her own child though so it's understandable. I love her oversized features though

brilliant work here.. your sense of proportion in the old woman is amazing. i especially like the way her giant hand dwarfs the little walking stick, and the expression on the young lady's face. makes me want to learn gouache a little better.

Hi Dawn - Gouache is opaque water colour, which is to say that it IS water colour but you can use it like oil.
