I have the 1:35 Counterpart of this vehicle that I still need to finish as a civilian version drafted into the French Army to be captured and used by the Germans

You're welcome... Not much different from the 1:35 counterpart then... you almost had to go searching inside the box for the parts so little of them was there.
Did this 1:48 kit have a die cast chassis?

No it did not. I think it is the only one of that line without the die cast chassis.

This car was great for its time. Monocoque body and suspension,plus front wheel drive.
