At first glance, one may wonder who each of these here characters are connected to one another. It's quite interesting. I put a lot of thought into this and was able to link six different series to each other, through Lego.
R2-D2 is from Star Wars, which is owned by Disney, which also owns Marvel, of which one character is Star-Lord, who in the movie version is played by Chris Pratt. Chris Pratt also was in The Lego Movie as the voice of Emmett. Emmett also being the first name of Emmett βDocβ Brown, who is played by Christopher Lloyd. Lloyd Garmadon is the Green Ninja. Other green ninjas are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, whose sometime enemy/sometimes ally is Karai.

If I may point something out..Β Liam Neeson was in Star Wars as Qui Gon Jinn, and also played Good Cop/Bad Cop in the Lego Movie.
Someone also mentioned to me (though this breaks from the minifigs) that Sam Rockwell was in the 1990 TMNT movie.Β He was also in the movie Cowboys and Aliens, with Harrison Ford, aka Han Solo.Β He was also in the movie Galaxy Quest, with Tim Allen, who played Buzz Lightyear in Disney/Pixar's Toy Story.

Clever.
Interestingly, in the LEGO Movie, of all the character LEGOs who had to be powered down for the plot to work, Lloyd probably had to be nerfed the most, considering in Ninjago he could basically mold the fabric of the universe and in this he was captured by Micromanagers no problem.
