Biography: In Egyptian Baby Names the meaning of the name Akila is: Intelligent. Which is a fitting name for this pony, as she is highly intelligent and a powerful spellcaster. She was so smart and powerful that she was considered to be beyond her time. She was the trusted priestess to an ancient southern Equestian god that her people worshipped, until a traitor killed the pharaoh she served and made it look like she did it. As a result Akila was framed for a murder she didn't commit and as punishment she was sentenced to a slow death. She was wrapped up in mummy bandages until she was fully mummified and sealed away in a sarcophagus and left to die of hunger and starvation.

Princess Peach Dancer, a pony princess from the future, who was seeking gifted ponies who had no future themselves to save the timeline from the evil Monarch, travelled back in time and rescued Akila from her sarcophagus, offering her the position for one of her Guardians of Time, but in doing so Akila would have to leave everything and everypony she knew and loved behind. Akila agreed and has become one of the most intelligent and talented members of the Guardians of Time. So much so that she often offers the team advice and helps to prepare them for every mission. She has a bit of a rivalry with her fellow Guardian of Time, Misty. Trying to compete on which of them has the most acrobatic skills. It's a friendly rivalry and they are really close friends who always look out for each other and try to help each other improve their skills.
