Description
So when Shade was 7, she found a baby dragonbite viper. She took it him, since she wasn't affected by its poison. She cared for it in her home at the SandWing kingdom. Shade was careful to not let anyone see it, since she knew that if the villagers discovered it, they would burn it on sight. That was what happened the last time a viper had been found in the village. Shade grew to love the little snake, and named him Verdigris, Verdy for short. Verdi left the house on few occasions, and Shade usually brought him out with her. Shade took care of him for a year. One day, Verdigris snuck out, and a few villagers found him. Hearing the ruckus, Shade found Verdi. The SandWings were trying to kill him. She came to his protection, and swung her barbed tail around. "He's my family!" She yelled. The villagers hissed. "That's a dragonbite viper, ypu moron! The most dangerous snake in the planet! And you call it your family?!" Shade picked up Verdi, and flew away with him, then released him in the desert.

A WIP story for Shade and Verdi. Any ideas?
