I really like this. The colours and the sketchy kind of lines.

Thank you for suggesting my Kensington Station Artist for a DD - very kind of you. It didn't make it, but Molly did put it in her list of the best that didn't. Barrie

Still technically winter here in the USA, although we've been having some stretches of spring-like weather occassionally.

Yes, sometimes the another artist working away can be more interesting than the actual subject
Very nice, very free and spontaneous, well done!

Thanks, and for the fav too - the person is Alan, one of the three of us who began doing a plein air thing on Thursdays. He was doing an oil painting right in from to me - I decided he was more interesting than the building.

Thanks Margaret and for the fav too. Except for quickie sketch and washes, I haven't done outdoor painting; it was fun being in a less controlled environment.

did you sketch it first then colored later?
very nice, a different Barrie subject

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BRipin In reply to j0rosa [2007-08-23 11:40:20 +0000 UTC]

Well, it was done on the spot, outside. I did do a very crude and light pencil guide sketch, then launched into pen lines and finally added the color washes and marks later. Thanks for asking Jas. Barrie
