I really like a lot this work! I'm used to visit t!

You should paint  some other aquacolor/pastel(?) in the same inspiration...

my first stab at art (about a year ago) was with pastels..ha ha..without evening attempting to learn how to draw...what a mess..what a horrible mess. But this is perfection>

Thanks Tali, Looks like I mixed up which Shenandoah I meant to reply too, the other one was really for this pastel. Thanks for the great compliments and faving on the watercolor version too, which I think is more interesting, but different.

Thanks you. You made my day - this is my second pastel, and I'm not displeased. Pastels can be subtle, but it takes a lot of work and time to achieve the kind of fluidity that comes in seconds with watercolor. On the other hand, the colors can be so rich and satin-like. Barrie
PS: thanks for putting this in your favs, and for putting poor little glazed in too.

Anipo In reply to BRipin [2007-11-05 07:56:14 +0000 UTC]

Yes.. i can recognize and hear what you saying.. indeed..what we have in pastels is not what you get from watercolor...we have to learn to accept them as they are.. the won character...lol...
And you are most welcome!

I'm glad you think so Sandra - I'm finding pastels to be quite a challenge and haven't yet decided whether it will be a mediaum that I'll be comfortable yet. Barrie

PS: Tx for the fav too, of course.

make me think about the work of impressionist but with a melancholia touch, it gives me the impression that is not a simple landscapes that you've paint but a landscape which means somenthing to you!
anyway great work my friend!

Thank you, well, no photograph, watercolor, or pastel can capture the beauty of the real thing - but yes, this scene was one of my most memorable.
