So I got to thinking a little on the idea of ‘What if Pink Diamond actually took Spinel with her instead of leaving her in the Garden’
It ends up leading to a scenario where Spinel is there throughout the events of the rebellion and aftermath, accompanying ‘Rose’ and the gang during their adventures on Earth.
Similar to Pearl, Spinel would be strongly attached to ‘Rose’, though she would be a lot more interested in just having fun and bringing joy to everyone. She and Amethyst would likely get along rather well, and constantly play off of each others’ shenanigans.
Spinel would be just as broken up about ‘Rose’ disappearing as the others, and would even be the only other person who fully understood Pearl’s heartbreak. However, unlike Pearl, Spinel wouldn’t lose herself in the sea of loneliness, but would instead dedicate herself to spending as much time as she could with Steven. To Spinel, Steven was her ‘new best friend’, and the closest thing she would have to being with Pink again.
While thinking about this, I realized that within all that time, Spinel would likely have at least one moment where her outfit would have ended up changing. I eventually decided to take some inspiration from Pippi Longstocking’s design.

I like all these ideas- I didn’t see the movie (just clips) and it seems that pink diamond is just as guilty of misunderstanding as any of the diamonds - it’s a huge missed opportunity to leave spinel behind... to not try to make use of her abilities - even if only in downtime form colony running
this design is a nice one for spinel. And it seems that she would make for quite the spirit girl for the CG’s
though I’m not sure if her presence would have either messed up or enhanced the tone of the show......
I might be giving her too much credit but I feel like your description suggests spinel would have been the most well adjusted to the passage of time aside from garnet but would be far more open to talk about it - almost as if she’s able to see the treasure in the present is worth more attention than what they lost and thus she is one of the CG’s whom has the strongest hope for the future.

Considering Spinel's personality, and how even when she was reset she still showed some yandere traits. I'd honestly have to wonder how Spinel would actually act if she was brought to Earth. Could Spinel even handle the fact that pink diamond turned into Rose? Also Spinel doesn't seem like the kinda gem who could keep a secret if she did know Rose's secret, so Spinel coulda ended up like Bismuth did during the war, but who knows. Spinel did dodge a bullet though playing statue for 6K years.
Honestly i'm not entirely sure Spinel woulda became a crystal gem had she gone to earth, she'd probably not have gotten told of Rose's deception, much like the rest of the gems besides pearl. And could have gone on the homeworld side swearing to annihilate the CGs for "killing" pink.
It's honestly hard to say what spinel would do. But she's like an extreme version of pearl, so idk how well that'd work xp

Pretty much. It could honestly have gone many ways, given her personality and childishness. Granted, the mental stability of a just recently reset Spinel, and one who had probably been around Pink and existed for a while could have been rather different in general.
As for Spinel keeping a secret? It could probably be easy if the secret was turned into a 'game'.
Spinel's fate if she wasn't stuck in the Garden could have gone many ways, and it's easy to see the possibilities. Though in the long run, I just like messing with the more positive and optimistic angle because of how much fun it the concept is.

Now the only other question is what would she think the theory would be with Baby steven during the flashback episode as well as any fusion with the crystal gems/steven
