You were lying on a cold hard hospital bed. You groggily opened your eyes and were immediately blinded by the brightness of the white walls and the intensity of the hospital lights. Once your eyes were adjusted to the light you looked around to see a sleeping figure of a man on a chair right next to your hospital bed. Your hand was gingerly held in his, you smiled at the sleeping Scotsman.

"Allistor." You croaked, it hurt to talk, it even hurt to breath. The sound of your voice startled the red head awake.

"Aye! Lass yer awake!" He smiled, his tired eyes growing wide.

"Yeah, I am." You laughed as you squeezed his hand.

"How ye feeling lass?" He asked sadness filling his eyes.

"I've been better." You stated before violently coughing, causing a few tears to fall from Allistor's eyes. "Please don't cry." You sobbed shakily raising your hand to his cheek. He smiled through the tears as he placed his hands on top of yours.

"It's all ma fault though lass." He stated.

"Uimh nach bhfuil sé." You stated.

"Lass, ye know I don't speak yer ancient tongue." He stated.

"It's not ancient, just old." You coughed, more tears fell from Allister's blue eyes.

"It's all ma fault." Allistor mumbled over and over again.

"God dammit! Allistor! Stop it isn't your fault!" You tried yelling at the Scot but came out as more of a soft yell. "Now please, I barely have energy to speak. Let alone try to convince you it's not your fault. Which it isn't!"

"I hate to see ye this weak lass." Allistor said brushing some hair out of your face.

"The doctor's said I'll most likely survive, but there is a slight chance I might not." You stated.

"I believe in ye lass. I know you can pull through." He smiled. "Now rest yer eyes. Ye look tired."

"You do the same then." You demanded noticing the purple bags under his eyes.

"Aye lass, I'm fine. I'll be right here when ye wake up." He smiled kissing your cheek softly. You then let sleep take you over as you experienced a flash back of memories.

You were in a large field somewhere in the highlands of Scotland. The grass was tall around you and the sky was a beautiful shade of blue. The sun was setting slowly casting a beautiful glow over the fields as you ran your hands through the grass. You had on a light summer dress that flowed behind you as you ran through the fields laughing. A tap on your shoulder made you jump, you quickly whipped around to meet the beautiful blue eyes of your Scottish boyfriend. He pulled his smoke out of his mouth and exhaled the toxic substance.

"Those smokes are going to kill you." You laughed.

"Aye, I realize lass. Let's not worry bout that now though." He smirked putting the smoke out and grabbing your hand and begging to run through the field.

"What are you doing!" You laughed as you tried catching up to his pace.

"Ye need to live a little." He smiled trying to run faster letting go of your hand in the process, you in turn powered your legs to catch up to the Scot. "I love ____!" He screamed at the top of his lungs.

"I love Allistor!" You screamed back laughing as he turned around and lifted you over his shoulder in a fireman carry. "Put me down!" You laughed pounding on his back.

"Not a chance lass." He smiled, you smirked smugly and began to tickle his sides making him drop you onto the soft grass laughing. "That wasn't very nice of ye lass." He winked as began to tickle you as well.

"Stop! Allistor! Please!" You cried in between laughs.

"Only if ye dance with me." He smirked.

"Fine!" You yelled as he stopped tickling you. He then grab your arm and lifted you up to your feet, he grabbed your waist and began to sloppily dance with you. "You're a horrible dancer." You laughed as Allistor tried to tip you.

"At least I have ye to teach me." He smirked. "Uh ____."

"Yeah Allistor?" You asked confused at his sudden nervousness.

"I have loved ye for a long time now lass. I've helped you get over some pretty dark times ye've done the same for me too. I just want to be able to comfort you, hold you and be with ye for my whole life." Allistor confessed as he let go of you and got on one knee. "Will ye marry me?"

"Yes! A million times yes!" You screamed jumping up and down as he put the beautiful ring he held in his hands on your finger.

You then attacked him in a giant bear hug, causing him to fall backwards laughing. The both of you then laid there for a long time just watching the sunset, your head was lying on Allistor's chest as his arm was wrapped around you. You then felt movement underneath you and heard the popping of a lid, you looked over to see Allistor drinking what probably was alcohol from a silver bottle.

"Want some lass?" He smiled already knowing your answer.

"I'll let you savour it." You laughed.

"I promise ye, that your scars will heal." He said referring to the cutting you used to do. "And sadness will be far away." He then kissed you softly on the lips, you could still taste the smoke and alcohol.

"I love you." You said breaking the kiss and cuddling into his side.

"I love ye too." He replied kissing the top of your head. "Do ye ever regret meeting me lass?"

"No why?" You asked confused.

"Well, I'm a heavy smoker and drinker." He drifted off.

"I don't care that you do that. Well I mean I worry about you but you seemed to have toned it down since we've meet." You pointed out.

"Ye have changed me lass, I am so thankful for it." He replied kissing your lips again.

You awoke to the sound of sobbing from beside you. You looked over to see Allister sleeping, but he was mumbling under his breath.

"It's all ma fault lass. Ma own mistake." He mumbled between sobs.

"Allistor." You croaked, it hurt even more to talk now. You used all your strength to squeeze his hand. "Allistor!" You tried to yell, he stirred awake.

"Lass, it's ma own mistake." He cried looking into your eyes.

"Allistor, I don't have much time left." You said coughing again.

"Lass please don't say that." He cried.

"Allistor, please just listen to me! I love you, always have. Always will, I thank you for everything you've done for me. You're the best thing that's happened to me." You weakly said, Allistor quickly kissed you on the lips and he began sobbing harder. "Good bye Allistor." You said with your final breath as the monitors began to sound the most dreadful noise Allistor has ever heard.

"No! No! ____!" He cried grasping onto your cold hand.

Your spirit has already left your body, you were watching over him as he cried at your side. Doctors tried reviving you but it was too late. You gently laid a hand on Allistor's shoulder who immediately calmed down a bit. You kissed the top of his head before you left the world forever.
