I'd call it more stamped than tooled, but hey lol.

the third from left line looks very nice, good uniform depth and it picked up nice color.

I really like the regal cross, very pretty.

Well, yes. It was kind of an experiment in techniques, and my consistency could use a bit of work.

Your edges look fine, and the general layout seems decent. Basketweaves are obnoxious to do, so don't worry, it just takes practice. It might help to case the leather first (better absorption, more even color), and also use packing tape on the backside, so that it won't stretch out (easier to match edges).

Yeah, this piece had been sitting around for a bit, so it didn't case well when I started on it. But you are correct, more practice is just the ticket.
