I'm pretty sure my mom isn't going to be that awesome when I come out to as a transgender, telling her her daughter got stuck in the wrong body... So I have back up plans. I'm glad to have chosen a few good friends rather than a ton of questionable friends. I'm happy for you though, that your mom is supportive.

My best friend came out to his mother as FtM transgender a few months ago, and at first it was a huge shock. She did try to convince him that he was just confused, or that there was no way it could be true, but that was just the shock talking and eventually she came to understand and be supportive of him. Just remember as a parent they have all these ideas for the future involving their child, and their entire view on that future has to change and that will take some time.
Also, from speaking to her i know one of the things she felt, as a mom, was very guilty. Guilty for not knowing and for her child feeling so out of place and in the wrong body all his life.
so, the point really is even if she doesn't accept it at first, give her time and maybe she'll come around

this is what my mum thinks too :3 though... 1 of my friends say it might be a phase... then again i haven't seen her for awhile,but my other friend dosen't give a damn <3 both internet friends :3 i was very scared of how people would take it when i told them i thought i was bisexual D: "don't fear the unknown" mum said,and that saying helped me out good ;u;

Update: It didn't work. He simply refuses to believe there are good mothers and he also thinks only fathers are real parents.
