Thanks, it's designed to be a 'Basic' tutorial for people to learn the basics of drawing tattoo style dragons(hence the youtube link). So thats why the red ball is where it is because if it was wrapped around an arm or leg it would be at a key point one side of the arm while the face would be the other. For this particular style and technique level its about teaching pattern and solid color placement not depth, its to be in simialr style of tattooists like horiyoshi III or Jess Yen Rather then going for a realistic oriental interpretation like say Shige Would.

If it's for a tattoo, I think it would look great in someone with light skin so that the dragon's dark colors stand out more.
While the koi carp would be more suited for someone with darker skin, though in the end that would depend on the customer's tastes...

This is a really neat design. I love how the black scales still show up, that is personally something I struggle with, because it's not an easy thing to do. You do really good with the coiling as well!

thanks. lol Yer when Im doing this style with the black inner scales then the over colour shading it can take forever but its work it in the end.
