Portal is not overused or a meme. It's a brilliant game with wonderful writing and subtle use of story and humor.
People do kinda beat the shit out of some of the jokes, but never the really good ones and despite that, you shouldn't let them make your outlook of the game itself bitter.
"The Cake is a Lie" is unfortunately a really obnoxious line to have overused, because anyone who says it is automatically disregarding the ending credits...
But that doesn't make Portal any less of a great game or experience.
