If only Disney would make a prequel...but I think they'd ruin it and make him "born bad". We can't have people feeling sympathy for the villain after all! 'Least he gets understanding and love from his rabid fans.

I've always wanted them to do a prequel but yeah they probably would T_T then again they try to make us feel sympathy in the musical when he says "Nobody loved me, theres the rub...not even as a cub" which would be great but the actor usually does it very over dramatically and it just sounds silly...sometimes I wish I was a guy so I could show how scar should be played haha but I do usually love everything the actor does except that bit.

I've only ever seen the play once but it was epic! I loved how they added to the characters and story overall. I just get the feeling they'd think they were "ruining" the original movie if they showed us any reason to feel bad for Scar. XD Might taint Mufasa's perfect image too. But pfft, I love seeing all the depths to a character and what makes them tick - what makes them into a "monster" so to speak. 'Cause something had to have happened and while all the fan theories are fun it'd be nice to get something official. NOT counting the TLK6NS "Tale of Two Brothers" (which is only semi-canon anyway) cause the cape buffalo story on how Scar gets his scar is way to unrealistic for me. The only thing I like about that story is the fact that it gave us a birth name for him. XD

RAMBLES ARE AWESOME! they show how much you care yeah I absolutely loved the musical, I went to go see it in London and I cried....at the beginning haha it was just so spectacular I got really emotional XD And yeah they probably wanted to keep to the exact essence of the movie but I'm the same, I love the villains, they're the most interesting characters and they ALWAYS have the best songs like Be Prepared and I cannot get enough of Hellfire from Hunchback of Notre Dame, I'm always singing it haha my mum hears me and thinks I'm crazy cause I want to send this random Esmarelda girl to hell lol. I enjoyed the book at first, just cause I was so happy for more knowledge of Scar's past, but the accident doesn't show why he was so evil, he was already evil in the book so yeah the book annoyed me, but it did give us more names which is cool.

Hooray for rambles! Oh yeah, villains are the best...and I love when we're shown any sort of depth to them. No one is pure "evil" or born that way, sadly not many Disney villains get to show their "shades of grey" so to speak. D: The ToTB story does at least hint to us that Taka feels neglected by his father - he calls Mufasa "daddy's favorite" at one point (and Mufasa snaps at him in reply "watch how you talk about me!" - hothead XD I like the theory of Mufasa giving Scar his scar, in an emotional fit - he'd quickly regret it but the damage would be done, and that'd give Scar all the more reason to hate him XD) Anyway his scar clearly came from a claw, not a horn so if not Mufasa or Ahadi, who knows...it's fun to think about XD /ramble ramble

lol yeah mufasa does lose his temper a bit with taka, but I'm always between the theory's of either mufasa or ahadi giving him his scar, I can't decide which one I prefer, and yeah it is definitely a claw mark, a horn would have taken his eye right out! *shudder* I just wish that someday disney would stop concentrating on their annoying shows give the people what they want...MORE LION KING

Disney of today is not the Disney I grew up with >_> Not when it comes to movies OR tv shows. I remember "The Disney Afternoon" with all the animated series (TaleSpin, Goof Troop, Chip n' Dale, Gargoyles, etc etc) now THAT was Disney...not these lame ass shows about whiny pretween girls that wanna be pop stars. And the traditional animated movies, the likes of which they just don't make anymore...I don't hate cgi, I'm looking forward to "Brave" and I like quite a few of Pixar's films, but they're just not the same. There's something special about hand drawn animation, more heart. There needs to be a place for both, imo. I'm all for more Lion King if they do it right...treat it as a work of art, a story...and not just a cash cow. Anything more they do with LK should be treated with the same respect - and given the same amount of dedication - as the first film was.

exactly! when the new disney started happening I wasn't annoyed or anything (I was too young to notice really) I still love That's so Raven and Lizzie Mcguire, both I found were amazing shows and very successful, which gave disney the idea to make more of these shows, started with suit life of zack and cody which I'll admit wasn't too bad to begin with...but then Hannah montana started and that became the downfall of any quality disney we had left. And I really enjoy all of pixar's works, they're not the same as the hand drawn ones but I still love to look and see how hard the animator's work to create these films...but they're nothing like the beautiful hand drawn works we all love...I just hope some day that Disney will open they're eyes and go back to the way things were
