There are hundred of female characters with realistic armors already now, it's not like everyone has to draw the same thing to please general trend.

So, you prefer non-realistic armor like this one where women who wear less armor provides more protection? That's your prerogative, but don't tell me that pictures of women wearing realistic armor is anywhere close to the general trend of what women wear in modern fantasy and sci-fi art!

In History there are many cases where fighters fought half/nad-naked, that as much part of history that full armors but now everyone goes crazy if they see sexy armors, so yeah, that's a trend, and one that probably won't last long given how many people are already tired with it. Art is free, and people will draw full or sexy armors on their own choices.
(On a side note, most people that favor classic sexy armors don't go whine at each pic with full armored woman "Baww it's good but why isn't she naked ?")

If you are referring to real human history, please tell me how many civilizations where female warriors ran around half-naked and fought in battles & wars. Also, the sexy armor trend has been going since the 20th century, especially 70s onwards and I don't see it changing anytime soon. If you think a majority of people of tired of it by now, I would like to see some evidence of that for I do not. Furthermore, just because some art is free is irrelevant to our discussion.

Really? /sarcasm And, it doesn't change the fact that she isn't wearing realistic armor even in a fantasy setting.
