Description Artist's Comments

This is an idea I had yesterday. I asked myself how another universe could look like.
We name unknown energies and matter "Dark Matter". In our universe are black holes, and when there are no stars there is only darkness. There is no brightness, only sources of light.

Maybe another universe is bright. Maybe there is no darkness, but only shadows. (And maybe white holes) Maybe there are unknown worlds on planets floating inside a deep blue skyish-sphere. Bright and endless.

This image is more a sketch than a finished work. I used some textures and especially build up the color-palette from those.

Maybe I use it as reference for a completed artwork next time. Because I painted very sketchy to have a visual reference for my idea, I will put this one into my sketchbook and don't call it finished.

Thanks for visiting my gallery.

I worked digital with Photoshop for this work. As for the technique: I worked painterly while starting in greyscale to put down my main-tones (light, midtone, and dark tones). Then I used some textures to get my basic color-palette and painted in some detail and more stuff.
But before using textures, learn how to paint. I once made the mistake to use much texture without being able to paint "okay". So it always looked very bad.
But I too need to learn MUCH more to become one of the best.

Just draw and paint a lot traditionally (very important!) and digitally, then you will improve and being able to develop your own style.

I prefer to use an A3 sized Wacom Intuos3 for working in Photoshop.

Do you have any other questions? Just ask, I answer when I have time to do so.
