Hmmmmmmm. A good question, but hard to say. If Feathertop had seen the Red Rebellion and the defeat of the CSA in the Great War as a Lt or even a Captain, would it have really changed his path?

It would have robbed him of a major catalyst that fed his anger and he might have been willing to lose himself into it. His anger was what drove him the rage and without that fuel.
