I think Thomas is a good kid, and I think he just got caught up in a bad situation. Same with Kocoum, I don't think he's a bad guy either I think he let his rage get the better of him, and he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Although in real life Pocahontas actually married him and was very happy with Kocoum. Also I believe its very possible that Nakoma is Pocahontas's half sister. Especially since chief Powhatan was known to have a few liazons with some of the women in the tribe.
