Description
I lay there at night by my self in our house wondering wether or not my mum would come
home from the pokies any time soon to drunk to realise I’m her daughter and beat me
because she thought I was a thief of some sort, or sober and balling her eyes out
because she had had another fight with my dad (that I haven’t even met) then sit and
watch sad romantic movies until all hours of the night. Most probably the first one… so I
lay awake and waited 1 hour turned to 2 then 3……… then suddenly – just as I was about
to nod of to sleep there was a knock on the door I didn’t get up to answer it because I
thought it as mum and I wasn’t looking forward to the beating that would come – for
letting my drunken mum in… then further down the street a car screeched and I heard
foot steps down the garden path open the gate and then the car zoomed off… the house
was silent again, so was the street. Then I fell asleep for ages it seemed when I woke up
I had just enough time to ponder what or who had been at the door, the TV turned on in
OUR lounge room, I got up got dressed brushed my hair and teeth then walked into the
lounge room to see if mum had anything to eat – I wasn’t hungry (hadn’t been hungry for
days) but it felt like the right thing to do.

I went into the lounge room and stood in front of the TV and stared at the person
who was sitting there, that’s not my mum. She stared straight through me still looking
at the TV like I wasn’t there, my eyes roved the room until the fell onto something that
looked oddly familiar, I went over for a closer look……… it was looked very much like I was
a few years ago. It was sort of like a doll all beaten up and bruised – but why did a doll
have bruises on it. Suddenly I realised something…… I was dead!!!!
