Captain Paul, a famous airship pilot and adventurer, is a character in my steampunk-set story, but he has a real-life prototype, my good friend from Moscow, both by the look and by his bright personality. The picture is based on a few different photos of my friend.Another picture of a steampunk aviator from the story is Captain Nekura .

Oh, this friend of mine - Paul - is a crazy roleplayer - he is wearing an armor, a sword- and axe- fighter, riding horses and all... His favorite fantasy race are dwarves, and he was asking me to draw him as a dwarven warrior - yet somehow I was never able to see him Gimli-like, even though I've seen dozens of his rp photos... And then he said that they are planning a Steampunk game - and I drew this picture at ones, I didn't even asked who he is going to play - and I guessed right... Naturally, he makes a great steam-age aeronaut

I have a whole new steampunk-race story cooking in my head.... now I am working on another realistic (kinda) aeronaut - Captain Nekura, a mysterious japanese guy
