Description
Our girl, Lysa, is putting in the hours at the farm after our early winter storm. we lost a lot of trees on the trails between the staff housing / med center and the main barn.

the snap tip of the driving whip cracked behind Lysa's left ear and she lunged forward with renewed vigor. the whip had never touched her but after a few weeks of training she knew the sound meant for her to get a move on. Lysa leaned into the harness and dragged the thick log away from the path. Her ears were pinned back at the first drop of hard labor the hose had ever experienced. the staff member holding the long reins laughed at the huge mares reaction to the sweat on her tack and mud on her feathering.

The RDR staff had been horrified at the damage to the farm the morning after the first snow of the season. trees were down and the many shortcuts between the medical center and the main farm were all closed. After a few attempts trying to get the truck and tractor down the paths the farm had to try an alternative method. The regular utility horses were usually used for traveling back and forth and chasing down strays. the most work they ever did was as a camping pack horse or dragging a cranky yearling back to it's pasture.

Lysa had been training for some light carriage work for a few weeks before the storm and now it was time for some practical work. Mirash and her husband, Evin, harnessed the mare and led her out to the first blocked trail. a few hours in she had used her enormous size and immortal untiring spirit to clear the path from staff housing to the residence. Lysa was learning that every horse put in their hard time at RDR, she was still looking forward to a soak in the hot pool.
