I'd personally ignore the people saying you have too many stars. I'm an astrophysicist, and I know, there are countless stars in the sky. Normally you just can't see them here on Earth because of the density of the atmosphere distorting their light. When you look at some of the images taken by the various space-based orbiting telescopes though, you can see them...

Considering that this image seems to portray a world with a very thin atmosphere, allowing for such clear and undistorted views of that other planet or moon, I don't have a problem at all with being able to see all the extra stars.

well, i can kinda see both sides of the picture. artistically, less is often more, so in most space art, it's not cluttered with stars. outer space is filled with stars, as you said. it could go either way, i chose to go for the almost overwhelming feel of space for this one

is being an astrophysicist fun? what kind of day-to-day stuff do you do? sorry, always been curious

Well, at the moment I don't do much of anything, being unable to work because of long-term illness. But mostly I used to combine my qualifications in astrophysics and aeronautical engineering to design commercial satellites. I also used to guest lecture at colleges.

Mostly it involves reading a lot of scientific journals, though I still find the time to just simply gaze at the sky with my telescope, but that's more of a hobby. It's not nearly as glamorous or exciting a profession as most sci-fi nerds (myself included) tend to imagine.

haha, well i find it interesting. i'm computer technology so i do programming, systems design, etc, but i've thought about trying to get into astronomy and astrophysics and look for a job where i can combine computers and space

even if the stars are unreachable, at least i can bring down the moon with my hands now.

yay

Very suggestive but, like qaz2008 said, the starfield could be improved: too many stars. You need some brush tool here!
