Description A piece I did for "The Festival of The Masters" at Downtown Disney. I was heartbroken that so many people forgot about the terrible things that have happened in the course of the past 5 years...so I decided to remind them at one of the largest festivals in the world. The drawing is pure black and white chalk. The sky line of ground zero is the center horizon with the sillouettes of the people that were lost that day lining the middle. The bay is on fire with smoke. The shuttles are the two we have lost that represent the towers. The stars on each side represent the seven souls from each astronaut team that perished. The bottom corners are the recognizable images of ground zero photographs. The three men standing in the center are a firefighter, a police e.m.t. officer and a service man all crying together clutching the tattered American flag found in the rubble...the only part of the image that is in color. The entire composition is in the center of a large Pentagon, not to be forgotten amongst the rest. I was awarded people's choice.

I wish the picture was bigger.
