Moar .flow goodness!Was gonna be something Meido but then it turned into this, and I couldn't be more proud of it~ ;//u//;
I love this scene/ending - it's powerful and yet ... something, I dunno what but I always get this weird feeling that I can't really place...
But I think the GasmaskMeido/Cleaner wanted to help - she would of attacked sooner but she didn't. Instead backed away.

I read a really good theory that the disease going around is turning the kids into Kaibutsu. I love that one best. XD Especially considering that creepy face-width grin. O3O;

when she dropped all her effects, the disease (rust) overtook her mind, throwing her into insanity, every part of sabitsuki was lost, and only rust was left.
meido nurse knew this was going to happen and had been planning to find some form of cure before it was too late, but the disease came on much quicker than planned, forcing meido to improvise before rust could harm anyone in the real world.
at least that's my theory.

I makes alot of sense too - she's clearly still alive at the end, something they wanted I presume, to try and help her (or keep her for more testing; With Sabitsuki/Rust's state of mind, it's hard to tell wherever the facility was a hospital for mending or infecting - I kind of get the impression the "school" was a dorm for the children that showed signs of being fairly immune.)
The story is just so big - but I guess that's whats so great about it, really. It follows with the original of having a subtle plot.

i have a feeling that they didn't quite know what the disease was, and had her quarantined to her apartment (which happened to be the top floor) so that she couldn't risk infecting anyone else. could also be why the only nurse maid lady wears a gasmask to hopefully prevent any form of infection.

Could be - alot of them, Sabi included, seem to have a bandage round their wrist; there's also a path that resembles the blood stream, to the heart and down, then through the hospital, and then - what I like to call the infected blood area. There's various nurses in places whom don't seem to be wearing masks, maybe they were the carless ones? There's also that room with bodies of dead, infected children ... it certainly paints an image that; if they wanted to help those children, they weren't taking the right path?
Gasmask Meido/Cleaner, though looks menacing, I think has good intentions and I agree with you about the preventing from catching it - for all we know, she's the only one left in the Apartment/Hospital, alongside Sabitsuki.

it certainly seems that it was some type of epidemic that happened suddenly, and recently too.
mostly because some of the parts of sabi's mind seem to indicate her earlier childhood like the area you get the broom effect, it just seems more happy and friendly.
but then when you get to smile's house it could indicate when she became infected, and smile (who might have been a good friend of her's) just wanted her gone and to protect his sister from getting infected.

I still have yet to download .flow - Which I'm planning on doing tonight - I haven't seen all of the rooms, but I do know that somewhere is a little Sabi with an orange scarf; where do you find her?
That is likely, it seems that his sister is already infected, though. Just not as badly as him(maybe even curable), him on the other hand is at a high stage of infection, and giving how the event happens when Sabitsuki has the pipe effect, she planned on putting her friend out of his misery but Smile refused, choosing to protect and stay with his sister - and like wise for her.
There's the school too, that seems to play out Smile's side of the story during a time he first became infected, and how he was coping; barricading himself in one of the rooms, and contemplating suicide at the balcony - you can't interact with him on either thing so maybe Sabi just wanted to help ... much like what we talked about for the Nurse/Maid/Cleaner - but Sabitsuki thought that it'd just be best to kill them after seeing all the dead bodies of other children? If she's seen things like that as a child, it'd certainly warp her mind frame as a teenager.
