Description
The Ranger-Class patrol scout is the widest used ship of the Star Patrol, being quick and cheap to produce but surprisingly fast and packing a big punch for a ship of her size, she ticks many boxes for the agency to use. Intended for a maximum crew of 12 she can however operate smoothly with as few as four aboard (this crew total doesn't include the service robot that she ships come with as standard, to prepare meals and keep communal crew areas clean), though she may lack resources for long-term deployments she can however last for several months before needing to resupply.

The designers managed to pack a surprising amount into the small spaceframe, including a briefing room, forensics lab, target range, evidence lockup, workshop and shuttle, without sacrificing essential elements like firepower (her armament comprises of two pulse torpedo launchers and four laser turrets, all of which are controlled from the gunnery station on the bridge).

Since being commissioned by Star Patrol eight years ago, their numbers have swelled to make them a very common sight across all the territory they cover, making it increasingly difficult for pirates and raiders to operate and keeping an ever watchful eye on the borders of some of the more aggressive species.
