Back when Star Trek was being made Darlene Hartman and Gene Roddenberry worked on a planned but never developed spin-off called "Hopeship", which would focus on Doctor M'Benga. With the only bits of information I can find being the name of the ship (U.S.S Hope), M'Benga's given name being Joseph, and that his brother Simon M'Benga was the ships Executive Officer, then I took full liberty to create my own crew for the medical ship.
