New 6x9 inch "Mini Monster Drawing".I often do these quick little ink brush drawings as a "warm up", just to get a feel for the brush and loosen up the old muscle memory, at the beginning of each new "art day", before plowing into more serious work. Sometimes I put these "Mini Monsters" up for sale just because they are fun little original art pieces that can be sold for low prices, because of their small size. But this one, I decided to keep for myself. It's my personal favorite of all the ones I've done so far!

The "Beauty and the Beast" motiff in art goes all the way back to ancient history!! Greek Mythology, Medieval Art, etc... But I specifically get my inspiration from popular entertainment... Horror, Fantasy, and Science Fiction Art on comic book covers, movie posters, and genre literature, spanning the 19th and 20th Centuries.
It really wasn't until the early 2000's that anyone started declaring such images "politically incorrect". But I don't listen to party poopers like that.

My attitude is... You can't please everyone. So I just draw whatever weird images pop into my head and I hope people will like it... But if they don't, well, that's beyond my control.

Killer gorillas were such a mainstay back in the 1930s and 1940s, for some reason. I guess you don't see as much of them anymore because humans destroyed their habitat (you know, secret panels in Old Dark Houses.)

Ah, the classic gorilla kidnapping a woman. That never gets old.
Though one day I still want to see a pretty blonde kidnapping a gorilla. Be an interesting change of pace.

Maybe she got a serve case of exhaustion from the jungle heat. The ape, after escaping from an oppressive zoo, came across her. So it's carrying the woman back to whomever can help.
