Description *Featured in issue 1 of Literary Fever.

I have reposted this piece showing it in the frame, because this painting was specifically created to go in this frame. Had I not found this frame in the first place, "Thinking About Tomorrow" would never have been made.

She has a lot on her mind and she is trying to let some of it go. Her dreams are her safe place. She wishes sometimes that she could dissolve into the sky.

Acrylic on 8"x10" canvas board. Original is SOLD.

<- Subscribed. It was really cool. I really liked the feature on the artist that did the charcoal on the cardboard.

Oh, yea! That was really cool. I have a friend who also works on cardboard. I've never done it myself, but I like looking at others' work on it.

I notice the change but It didnt hurt it-Its complete now in your eyes-so thats a great thing..Still $200-Come on man what did we talk about-Haaaaa! An art curator would say the Final price was $800..Because of the size-etc..Love this piece man..

bryancollins In reply to davidmacdowell [2007-09-05 00:12:27 +0000 UTC]

The size is part of why I thought $200 was fair. It's only 8 inches by 10 inches. Besides, it's been $200 since I first posted it and I still have it... that must say something

this reminds me of the song "black balloon"
its even more impressive as a simple piece inside the frame

bryancollins In reply to Retro-Sorrento [2007-07-26 02:55:14 +0000 UTC]

That song is exactly how this piece got its title. He says "thinkin' bout tomorrow" in the first verse.

Thats what i thought... but i didn't want to attach something to the piece that wasn't there.
hehe
i actually just saw them in concert, and when they played black balloon there were about a hundred balloons flying all over the crowd... it was amazing.
again... beautiful piece!

I like this. The hair is great.....how it blends into the balloon. The woman seems a little masculine in the neck and shoulders...but over all this is a beautiful peice and concept!

$200 it will sell eventually no doubt-This is beautiful. Its got a illustrative/narrative feel and would look great on a hallmark card even. Awesome.

bryancollins In reply to davidmacdowell [2007-07-24 02:09:20 +0000 UTC]

I was hoping it would feel a little more macabre than a hallmark card, but I accept the compliment My wife actually asked me not to sell it, so I had to promise that when it sells I have to make something similar. What are you working on right now?

davidmacdowell In reply to bryancollins [2007-07-24 04:53:05 +0000 UTC]

Hey maybe your right-Hallmark doesnt have the goombahs-I just saw high class and saw it in print{or marketed on mugs and t-shirts}Umm-It is a surreal stand out-up there with anything that I see in the lowbrow mags and sites these days-I had to laugh at $200 because Ive went low with great stuff just because I needed cash for the next painting. Thank god my stuff barely sells-Haaaaa! I was thinking the same thing-Dont sell it {for now-unless you get some prints made} because its an awesomely STRONG portfolio piece. As far as what Im up to is relatively silly. Youre creating some very timeless work here.

I'm moving back out to Colorado from here in Florida, so I've dropped the price on a bunch of my stuff to help get us out there. As for the compliments, I always feel weird about them. For the longest time I never took my art seriously. I threw away most of what I did because I only needed to draw them, not look at them. It wasn't until this past November that I began putting my stuff on the internet, so all the compliments still make me squirm a bit, but I really do appreciate them. And you know, relatively silly work can be just as great as anything else in the world
