Berry's parents! uwu I was very unsure about sharing their story here because Im definitely not very good at writting stories and I'm not even sure all of that makes sense. this probably needs a lot more work, it's mostly a couple of ideas I had and threw on paper x'D plus i never really ever created any good back story... well because when i did it was always shitty .u. soo... I'm afraid it's a little too much or idk but here we go -

First, when Berry was 11-12, the parents separated. (just like for me ;n; )
Around the time of Sonic adventure 2, The father works at GUN, he's neutral but has evil tendencies
although he's working as a military to defend the nation. His plan was to create himself a sort of "potion" in order to
increase his abilities, endurance, strenght etc and be the best military of the nation and someday become the boss
and lead them. a potion that he would transfer in his own blood directly. He had already attempted
creating a powerful potion before but always failed. Working at the GUN, their goal was to protect
the chaos emeralds which attracted his curiosity a lot - he was looking for the perfect
energy source for his creation and he obviously thought they'd maybe be
of good use , exctracting their power and add it into the liquid.
Of course this potion at some points wouldn't be healthy for him and could severely hurt him and damage
his immune defense system and at some points kill him if the dose isn't respected. Nero knew where his boss
and colleagues were keeping the emeralds so he decided to take them with him discretely (he didn't have them all though,
only 2 or 3 )
Berry, who a little younger at this time, knew about her fathers plan, and was feeling concerned as for his
reponsabilities, his good sense and of course his health. She had always admired him and be close to him, but
she really felt like he was making a mistake so she decided to steal the emeralds from him and give them back to GUN
without him seeing. Unfortunately for her, she didn't have time to give them back - he caught her almost immediately.
Once he caught her interfering with his plan, he started to fight Berry who was hidding the emeralds and refused to give them back to him . he then decided to punish her by throwing her
in jail in GUN locals, until she accepts to give the gems back. At this point they both felt betrayed and hurt by each other.
Although , she didnt stay long in here - Rouge the bat, who was part time working for GUN as spy agent - happened to bump
into Berry in prison as she was passing by and she got really curious of her case, knowing she was the daughter of one the
military, she asked her how she ended up on here and as Berry explained her, Rouge offered her a deal : giving her
the emeralds she had stolen, (she of course wanted them for herself, as a jewel thief) and she would free her from prison and help
her escape without anyone seeing, until they of course realize she is gone xD Berry was naive (and a little dumb x'D) a this time so she told her, not being
aware that Rouge was a thief. But after that, they kept in touch and actually became close friends, the bat girl wanting to team up with
the purple hedgehog as she showed her she was a thoughtful person and had many things in common which made them connect well. Rouge is actually the first official
character Berry meets.
Once Nero noticed his daughter was gone he went nuts searching for her as he realized the emeralds had been stolen again (but
this time it was rouge xD)
Her mom, Amethyst (nicknamed Ames) , happened to be a business woman - not like a worldwide known and important one,
but just a good business manager who was very determined and smart. Although her job just like Nero's took her a lot
of her free time and both parents never really had a real family time together and taking care of their daughter, except
when she was very young. after that, their jobs became too important and demending. Berry kinda had to grow up on her own.
All in all she never really had great bonds with her parents, except with the dad with who she was feeling a lot closer and protective
with her, at least until he decided to put her in jail for which she's still holding grudges nowadays, the mom always seemed kinda distant and a
little snob and haughty. Before Ames became a business manager, she was very loving, carring and close to her daughter. That made
Berry wanting to leave and live on her own and quit her parents very early in her life. One day she decided to
leave her birthtown, the parents without telling them and arrived in Sunbay where she didn't know anyone.
Nowadays, she rarely sees them but it happens from time to time I guess, they would want to visit in order to see the grandchildren
but not Berry in particular xD they still didn't get over the fact that she's left a long time ago without telling them and leaving any clue
Personality like, she's got her arrogance and flirty/seductive side from daddy and passionnate and clever/determined side from mommy xD

so that's it, again I know this is not well written and yeah it's probably unoriginal, but i like it this way to be honest! I just wish i was able to write this backstory better. ;u;
Also, this little necklace that Ames is wearing is the necklace she gives to Berry as an infant ;u;
