The stonework looks like Dartmoor or Exmoor in the Southwest of England, The hills look like the Yorkshire moors or Teesdale... put me out of my missery, where is it?

One of the most inspiring places in the country. My mother used to live on the shores of Grassmere during the second world war and has some great stories of that time of her life.
My son goes to University in Preston, not far away from the Lake District, I envy him

It is a place my heart has been stolen to! I even had to shed a tear when we drove away, yeah ..it might sound over the top.. but I've never enjoyed surroundings as much as these.. cannot wait to go back...... lucky your son indeed! you love far away from there? Saw the movie Miss Potter the other night... sigh.... want to go back even more now
