Great shot. I love how inviting the colored doors make the houses look. Without that color, I feel that the buildings would be much more plain and sad-looking.

The story is that when Prince Albert died the whole of the UK was ordered into mourning black. The Irish, not being very fond of the British, instead painted all their doors in the brightest possible colours to show contempt for the monarchy.
Probably apocryphal, but that's the tale.

Haha.. you are more than likely right... but I rather like your side of the story.... and yeah.... there is no love lost between the two countries.. something like the dutch and the german... altough thankfully, after 60 years the younger generation have no animosity from either side
