Photoshop Elements is only $80 to $90 depending on if you buy it with a Bemboo tablet. And you can get the same results at Sai as with Photoshop if you are skilled enough, It just has diffrent brish styles like Marker and water tool, but Photoshop has it to, you just have to work a little harder to get the same effect. Also, a tutorial will not always help you, There are something you must improve on yourself.

No its not free. Also I looked at some of you Sai work. It seemes you don't know how to use layers. That is what you need to learn first. Once you get that down it will be ten times easier to color diffrent things without messing up another piece you have colored. Do you have the free trial of Sai?

Hmm, Sai is expencive as well. Gimp is the only thing that is free, but Gimp is low quality. If you are really serious about getting into Digital artisty, you should Invest on Photoshop Elements. Photoshop CS4 can be over $1000, so Elements is the way to go if you have a tight budget. I have personaly had Elements for 3 years now, I plan to Upgrade to CS4 but thats only because I have maxxed out my PS all I can. Also, you should get a Tablet, preferably Bamboo. You can buy them at Best Buy, it comes with Photoshop emenents so its worth the buy. The only diffrence I can find between Sai and PS when I work with it is the Line correction tool. Wich alowes you so fix your croocked Linearts. But in Ph Elements, you don't have that. And thats why people like Sai. But eh, I like my Elements...croocked lines and all.

Deppends, with my comics I try to color as much as I can on a layer, but im carful not to color things to close to others. with my comic I have aboyt...hmm, maybe 12 layers. and if its a really nice picture like the "Riots Revenge" Pickture I have on my Front page it can be up to 30 layers. So its really up to you and the drawing and hoe well you want it to look.
