of course you can. the key is long exposure. if you set your camera on long exposure in a low light area, then you can 'write' on the air, like it was a board. so as you move the light source, it captures the motion and create such images like this one.

This picture is SO cool. Love is one of my favorite words, and I love the way you "painted" this!

What kind of "light source" did you use, and did you just stand in a dark room and use your hand to move it around?
