Those are awesome (as are the TMNT jeans). What would you charge to paint a pair of jeans?

Very Cool! I'll have to post some of my own art work on my jeans... BTW charcoal pencils work awesome for sketching the image first.

This looks like fun to make and wear! Maybe I'll do some experimenting of my own. Did you have a sketch ahead of time or was it design-as-you-go? Any tips for painting jeans?

Thanks for the inspiration!

It is fun! I kind of map out a design in my head, but for the most part it happens as I go. I just take sharpie straight to the jeans for the linework, and work any mistakes into the design... or cover them with paint when possible. (I've tried using chalk and wax marking pencils for fabric, but they don't work well on the jeans, and chalk can be unecessarily messy.)

I think my only advice would be to keep the layers of paint relatively thin, because the thicker it is, the more likely it is to crack over time.

Hope you have fun!

Not at all! I've had my original pair (the TMNT jeans) for two years now, and they're doing just fine.

I've found that acrylic cracks like you mentioned on the tmnt post. Then the sharpie just fades, I'm assuming you do most of your sharpie for outlines and small details?
