Omg, what a cutie. What an adorable artwork you've made. The textures of the feature. The squashed face. The glowing light that contrasts with the dark. Outstanding. 
The only thing I think you should do is make the background darker. It'll create a more definite contrast with the bird and background. It'll make it pop more.
