Trying to recollect my drawing mood by having fun with Roie's expressions. =3Soon after I'm done with my huge plate for architecture design, I'm gonna continue drawing stuff again (...hopefully ^^') ^u^
Here I drew some of the most common expressions I can think from Roie; the usual expressions that you can see from him, and the less likely ones, were he's angry and grumpy. He's supposed to be usually very calm and easy going, but he does get upset at times because he's also firm.
In this drawing, I decided to focus on his emotions, which are how the facial expressions and the body posture are drawn. I always wanted to draw him in a way that I usually haven't drawn before, and to make him seem more alive as a character. =3
...I swear I drew a lot of new faces here, but they've always been stuck in my head, so I know it's still Roie.
I also think there may be some expressions here that you may haven't known from him, or expect from him, I'm not really sure, ..but at least now you know~ ^^

A drawing tip from me I want to share for a long time. To get the accurate way of your drawing proportions, you should try viewing your drawings in it's "mirrored" version. It helps you to detect and correct distorted drawings, if you haven't knew this yet. =3

I just find this style very effective for his personality and design because it is a lot more flexible and realistic. Complex emotions became compatible with this style too, and I wasn't able to draw these very well back at my older, traditional design.
Roie, drawn in a more cartoony style, still has the same Buizel characteristics of him. He still has that fin on his head, and I didn't add any visible ears. I still kept his paw with three fingers, even though having a thumb is indeed a very crucial part for anatomy purposes. And for other visible changes (like eye-style, short snout, muscles, longer tail ends, etc.) I didn't add them only because I want them too, but it actually has to do with his personality and character. I followed the concept of "form follows function" for his design. Sadly I found out that some people missed to understand this.
