For this shot I used the 450D Canon with an MP-E 65 mm lens set to 3:1 magnification ratio and of course ....always natural light.

Very nice detail at high mag, a little dirt, I believe the slowed motion from the cold impaired his cleaning activity.

i found them in dead trees with those cold days,searching some beetles but today they were trying to get warmed with 12ΒΊ outside and I prepared my equipment rapidly and finally from 20 shots I get one.It was moving very slowly but for 1 sec exposure itΒ΄s enough to come out blurry.

Of all the creatures in the insect world, I doubt any can surpass the wasp in terms of aesthetics.

Indeed youΒ΄re right-i found them quite often but I canΒ΄t stom shooting them.They are very photogenics insects.
