Description OK, I watched Eurovision and people were booing at the Russian singers, because Russia is "homophobic". Maybe it is, but Russian people gave 8 points (the 3rd big points) to the Austrian drag queen. Dunno. For me, this was double standart and totally undeserved to the singers who represented Russia.

Yeah, Russia has a shitty government, but, you know, there are other people there besides Putin.

PLEASE NOTE : The points in Eurovision are given in 50% from televoting and 50% from national jury. Conchita Wurst got 8 points from the Russian televoting, but didn't score so great in the national jury, so Austria got in total 5 points from Russia.
My point was to highlight more on what the Russian people think on Conchita Wurst.

I think Conchita is an awesome singer. Honestly s/he scared me, when I first saw him(her), but when I listened to "Rise Like a Phoenix" I thought it was a great song and his(her) voice was great.

Saudi Arabia, Iran and all the other muslim countries are much more homophobic than Russia but everyone is blaming Russia and not the muslim states because people are too afraid to be called 'racist'...

I'm a bit late, but I'm pretty sure Russia was being booed because of what they're still doing to Ukraine

Poland did not vote for Austria too. My country Poland has a lot of people, who hate homosexual people.

In Russia in full volume showed an Austrian artist, it was a great song. In Russia everything is in order with freedom of speech, of the press and TV. Rumors about censorship in Russia are strongly exaggerated. (sorry for Yandex translator)

Russian people really gave Austria 8 points (my votes among them, woohoo), but so-called "professional jury" gave her nothing, so the final result is 5 points.

that's strange, everyone talks here about 5 Points, and also Conchita said that she is proud of the 5 Points from Russia, that's more then 12 from Belgium or somewhere else, because there is still hope for more tolerance there ^^

The points in Eurovision are 50% from televote and 50% from national juries. The fact that the Russian people voted with 8 points to the song means that they thought that Conchita has the 3rd best song of the night. And I don't think that this is homophobia. Definitely not.

The problem is not the televote, but the national jury.

Example, the UK gave 12 points to Poland from the televote, but the British jury gave it 0 points, so the Polish song got 0 points from UK, no matter that the British public have 12 points which is the maximum.

That's why I wrote that "Russian people give" 8 points to Conchita. Not that Russia gives 8 points to Conchita. Sorry for the missunderstanding. I will change the discription to make it more clear.

I think that the jury must leave. Again.

Er...you do realize that there is a large amount of Polish diaspora in the UK and Ireland, who both put Poland first in televoting and last in jury, so it's misleading to say the British public would have given Poland 12.

Why do people blame the juries for everything?

Oh ok, I didn't know that and I guess a few other too. Is it useless to vote, when the national jury gives the points? And how I heard Putin isn't amused about our Conchita xDĀ I don't know if it's true, but I can imagine They said that they censored that 3 Minute where she was on stage, but I don't think that it's true? Probably the jury talks to much bullsh*t

No, Conchita Wurst's performance was broadcasted in Russia. How can Russian people vote for Conchita Wusrst, if the performance was censored? LOL, who spreads this rumors.
