this is probably the longest ive spent on a photoshop drawing... or any drawing as it is. i cheated and outlined from the reference when i started. its just so much more difficult to sketch in photoshop than on paper. did solid blocky coloring, than i used a sandstone texture for the skin, 19% solid paintbrushes for the details and fine points and shading, and smudge brush for most everything else.ill actually work on his hand one of these days. i never bothered with it yet.
(edit: the hair above the forehead, his right eye-lashes and the hand still bother me)

It's very impressive, usually I don't really like numeric painting but this one is special... maybe because I love the reference!
I'm actually drawing Eric Szmanda too, but you don't explain why do you choose him? For the photo, or the character? (sorry If I made mistakes I'm french.!)

we had to pick a picture to draw, and make a black and white copy of it. Then we had to tear one of them and put the pieces over the other part, and draw what we saw....mine was of the same picture, but because his jacket is already black and grey, it was hard to tell where the black and white started and where the color ended, so I added my own background, which is what is keeping me from finishing it...
