Okay, it seems they've entirely dodged the 'Magni is a baby' part of the plot by taking it as a metaphor for him giving up being a Jotunn. Well that's original! xD
Oh and just to mention that I'm going with 'god' to refer to the Aesir unless absolutely necessary because the singular of Aesir is actually As. Which obviously is a common word in english that will cause a huge pile of confusion. I tend to just be super incorrect and say Aesir for both plural and singular just for conveinience in day to day life but it seems a bit improper to do it in a translation...
Anyway that's why I'm adding here that you shouldn't take Magni's 'I became a god!' as ego or anything. He's just saying he wants to live with his dad, we ain't meaning all-powerful omnipotent God with a capital G Seriously 'Yesterday I was born as an as!' is way up there on the list of world's most grammatically incorrect sentences.
Originally Sif said "..because you can't keep yourself on the mat!" to refer to Thor sleeping about. Doesn't make much sense to me literally translated so I assumed it was an idiom and went with that.
And finally Magni originally said 'the mighty thor' but marvel has ruined that phrase for everyone forever. Unlike Tjalfe's costume in the opening scenes I doubt this was a reference cos it totally ruins the seriousness of the moment.
What will happen on the next episode of Norse Mythology: The Soap Opera???
