These three gems were custom-made for MinorConsequences (will DA let me tag someone for once ? We'll see), as part of a trade, both in reality and in-universe !

For a little backstory, the idea is that our diamonds characters exchanged a few gems as part of an agreement to keep each other's existence a secret from their respective empires. Also, you should definitely check out MinorConsequences if you are interested in amazing gems or amazing drawings in general.

So these three are original gems, and they are obsidians. I imagine that they would have the roles of elite guards and mercenaries, as well as secret agents of sorts. They're sent by their superiors to track down rebels gems, guard elite ones, or retrieve all sorts of information.

As you may have noticed, they are all wearing masks, and the one in the center, who I imagine is the leader of this trio, is the only one whose eyes you can actually see, since the others are wearing full-on porcelain masks of sort. I do think that they can take them off though, but that they have them for an added intimidation factor.

Design-wise, I was going for a futuristic sorceress look, and that is linked to the powers they possess. These gems are able to make themselves disappear in shadows, as well as manipulate darkness using umbrakinesis, even generating their own. I also think that they would be able to absorb the light around them, and since gems are made of light, who knows what kind of effects it may have on them ?
