I would highly suggest resubmitting this as a scan rather than a photo. Its a very good drawing. I really like the style, and that tree looks fantastic. I'd love to see this polished up.

This may seem like a silly question, but what kind of pen/ink do you use? I can't sketch with pen because the lines are always too dark so I can't make the basic outlines without it looking like the "finished" work. Sorry if that doesn't make sense.

I actually use a whole mess of different pens- the best are ball point rollers, like BIC (I think)- and it's usually the most inexpensive ones that work the best. Although, my absolute favorite pen is a "ZEBRA TECHNO LINE 0.4" that I got from Kinokuniya: it's a really thin line that I can build up into a finished line. It's just a lot about control with the pens, I don't worry about making precise lines first as long as I sketch with them really REALLY lightly and then gradually add pressure to make darker lines or go over a few times and broaden my lines to make them more prominent than my sketch lines. Hope that helps!
