The detail in this is so awesome. I have the feeling that I can just touch it and I have the feeling of the texture in my hand. The detail just gives the picture so much depth. Fabulous!

I'm not usually into macro flower photography but this one took my breath away with its intensivity. Excellent cropping and quality. What equipment did you use to shoot this?

I'm not in macro flower too, but that sunflower was really 'calling' me

I used a Canon EOS 20D + Canon 28-135 IS USM , nothing fancy

70mm , 1/800 sec, 200 ISO

Great flower; the framing is excellent and you get just the right eyeful of patterns (Ooh, Fibonacci!) and lines. Just a thought, though: contrast could be a slight bit heavier. The yellow isn't as bright as I think it has the wonderful potential to be. =] Great shot, though!

Thx I tried contrasting a little more, but I was losting details in shadows and I didn't want to do a more 'digital' edit

Also a too bright yellow could look a little bit artificial IMHO but thanks for suggestion, maybe i'll try again

I guess it's always tricky with patterns, huh? Yeah, I get your point, but the apparent "dullness" was the first thing that struck me when I took a quick peek at the thumbnail. It just didn't seem characteristic of a sunflower shot, but considering the great focus on patterns, shadow detail's super important as well. Good luck with it!
