Description My entry for AnotherContestGroup 's Why Do You Do What You Do contest.
I have been thinking about how best to portray this theme visually since the contest was announced.  I can think of a lot of things that inspire me, that make me want to push my artistic limits and reach higher, but all of them are still beyond my abilities to portray.  I could write about the artists I've seen, the shows I watch, the music I listen to, but in the end it all comes down to the same thing.

For years I let my procrastination slow me down.  I wanted to get it perfect on the right try, and was so afraid of failing at that that without a guarantee of doing it 'right' I almost never actually drew anything.  I just drifted along, not really accepting that there is no road to instant perfection.  Improvement only comes with years of failing a little bit less every time you try, and it's only recently that I came to truly understand that.

So I draw because I want to create something beautiful.  I draw because I want to be a better artist tomorrow than I was yesterday.
I want to be able to just sit down to draw and show the world something new, or something familiar in a new way.  I want to always keep improving, always move onward.
To new heights, to a new day, always a new start.

Inspired by my wonderful sister Xovinx , whose drive to always improve is my example and beacon to strive after.
Oh, also for Contest-Office 's 5th Participate-in-Contests contest .

I'm sorry, I had to get it out. It's just so emotionally beautiful. It's the working with LIGHT that you've really got down... wow... I'm in awe.
